GOAL:
Our goal this year is that 100% of students will be successful on the STAAR/End of Course Exam. 8th Grade Math STAAR and the Algebra EOC is in May.
*Algebra students must pass the Algebra I EOC as it is a high school graduation requirement. This goal is attainable and we will work hard all year to make sure we are ready!
EXPECTATIONS:
In order to reach our goal, each student is expected to undertake certain responsibilities. These responsibilities are as follows:
*Have a pencil every day!
*Have your Planner to record daily agenda, upcoming tests or projects, and homework. Even though you will find a calendar on the Downloads page, things happen that cause us to get off course. Using your planner is a life skill that will help you be successful!
*Have your Homework-practice makes permanent! Completion grades will be given for homework. I don't expect you to always get it right but I do expect you to try and to practice what we have learned in class. We will move at a fast pace in class and if you do not do your homework, you WILL get behind.
*Take care of Absent/Make up work! It is a good idea to have a "buddy" that you can contact when you are out. You may be able to go to the downloads page and print what you missed or you can get the materials from the make up work folders when you return. You will need to come to tutorials to get missing notes and tutorials on the lesson you miss.
*Have a POSITIVE attitude! Math is FUN and Challenging! I will look forward each day to introducing you to new ideas and will be there to help you any way I can.
*Communicate with me! I am here for you! If you find yourself struggling with something come see me so we can work through it. You will have a permanent tutorial pass in your planner so you can come in when you need to.
Let's have a GREAT year!!
